Here are the pics I promised Pasha. They show the connection that has existed between the former Soviet Union and China in their modern ideological beliefs. Both countries display a flair for the aggrandisement of the people they are portraying. Modern day heroes, eh? It does have a certain appeal.

Very impressive Brad. There are still communist statues here. I suppose that it is important for Russians to know their history. But many have also been taken down. The centre of Novosibirsk till has a huge statue of Lenin and the Proletariat.
What's that building in the background of the top photograph? It looks like there's giant cross in the window. Ironicalistic.
Yeah, I wondered that since I downloaded it from my camera. I don't have an answer, but I know that in earthly terms the cross there would be unintentional.
